Bear (Prince Vidar) - Character Design

Prince Vidar is 21 years old and the oldest child of the King and Queen of Bjorntoft. His younger brother, covetous of Vidar’s claim to the throne, has cursed him and caused him to turn into a bear. Everything about his cursed appearance looks truly “bear,” except for his strikingly human eyes. Vidar’s main drive is to become worthy of the crown his father will pass down to him. Leadership has never come naturally to Vidar, who always preferred taverns and hunting trips over his princely duties. Still, he is loyal to his family and his kingdom and longs to gain his father’s approval and respect. Vidar’s main fear is that he will prove to be a failure as king, and he lacks confidence in his ability to rule one day. Once Vidar is cursed and transformed into a bear, he realizes that his evil younger brother is a threat to the kingdom’s stability, and he is motivated to find a way back to his human form, defeat his brother, and take his rightful place as heir to the throne.
